Mark 16: Go and Tell, Including Peter
Scripture
Mark 16
Three women come to the tomb worrying about who will move the stone. It is already moved. They are told to go and tell the disciples and Peter.
Those two words are the whole chapter in miniature. Peter had denied him three times a few days earlier and would have assumed he was no longer counted. The message names him separately so that nobody could deliver it and leave him out.
Mark then ends abruptly, with the women afraid and the story unfinished — which is, in a way, an invitation.
If you have been assuming you are the one left off the list, this is the sentence to read again.
