Online Worship
A Guide to Online Worship: Gathering That Distance Cannot Stop
Some believers live in cities with no church in their language; some are housebound by illness or age; some live where open gatherings are difficult. For them online worship is not a lazy option — it is God's grace.
1. Prepare your heart. The enemy of online worship is casualness: pajamas, breakfast, half-attention. Set a time, clear the desk, sit together as a family — prepare as if walking into church.
2. Choose well. Find a live stream whose preaching is faithful to Scripture, and commit to one church rather than channel-surfing weekly. Many churches stream in Chinese, Burmese and Thai.
3. Participate, don't just watch. Sing along, pray aloud, take notes; giving can be online too. Worship is a verb.
4. Online is not the destination. If there is a physical church in your city, let online be a bridge, not a substitute — an embrace and the breaking of bread cannot pass through a screen.
In the Global Church Maps directory you can filter churches that offer online services.
