Trust in the LORD with All Your Heart

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." (Proverbs 3:5-6) Note the contrast: trust is to be total — "with all your heart" — while our own understanding must not be leaned on. Scripture is not against thinking; Proverbs itself is a book of wisdom. It is against seating our own judgment as the supreme court. "Acknowledge Him" is literally "know Him" — in ALL your ways, not only the desperate ones. House-buying and grocery-buying, career and dinner: invite Him into all of it. Faith is not a crisis hotline; it is a walking companionship. The promise: "He will make straight your paths." Not always the shortest road — but always the road He answers for. What decision today has not yet had Him in the room? Prayer: Lord, I set today's decisions before You and refuse to lean on my own cleverness. Make my path straight. Amen.
