Psalm 130: Out of the Depths
Scripture
Psalm 130
Eight verses, and the first word locates the writer at the bottom.
Then a line that stops most readers: if you kept a record of sins, who could stand? The expected answer is nobody, including the person praying.
What follows is not a defence but a description of waiting — more than watchmen wait for the morning, repeated twice, as though the repetition itself is what waiting feels like.
Note what he waits for. Not for his situation to change, but for the Lord.
