Psalm 126: Sowing in Tears
Scripture
Psalm 126
The psalm remembers a rescue so complete that the people thought they were dreaming. Then, abruptly, it asks for it again — restore our fortunes, like streams in the desert.
Both are in the same short poem: a real deliverance in the past, and a present situation that still needs one.
It ends with a farmer going out weeping, carrying seed. Sowing is an act of hope performed before there is any evidence, and it costs something now for a harvest that is not yet visible.
