军兵安营攻击他，他却说心里不害怕。然后在中间，他把一切收窄成一个请求：一生一世住在耶和华的殿中，瞻仰他的荣美。
在围城之中，这是个很奇怪的请求。不是求脱险，不是求得胜——是求同在。
这篇诗结束时，是在对自己说「要等候耶和华」，而且说了两遍——这说明写的人自己也需要被说服。
这里的坦然，不是围城消失了。是在围城持续期间，关于「往哪里看」的一个决定。
