1 John 1: Walking in the Light
Scripture
1 John 1
John opens as a witness: what we have heard, seen with our eyes and touched with our hands. He is not reporting a philosophy but a person he met.
Then a definition of fellowship that surprises people. Walking in the light does not mean having nothing to hide. It means not hiding it — and the result given is fellowship with one another, not just with God.
Concealment is what isolates. The chapter offers the opposite of a performance: confession, and cleansing that is promised rather than earned.
