With So Many Religions, Why Christianity

Every religion says it is the true one. What makes Christianity different from simply being the one I happened to be raised near?

Start by conceding the strong half of your question: where you are born hugely influences what you believe. That is true, and dodging it is dishonest. But it establishes the origin of a belief, not its truth. Where you learned mathematics does not determine whether the mathematics is correct. Judging an idea by how you came across it is a known error in reasoning. So the real question is not how you encountered it but whether what it claims actually happened. And that is where Christianity differs in form from most religions: its central claim is not a set of teachings but an event — a man died in history and then was alive. Paul states it with unusual bluntness: if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith, and we are found to be false witnesses. Very few religions offer that kind of falsifiable condition. It amounts to saying: if this did not happen, we are wrong. Several things can therefore be examined. The earliest accounts appear remarkably quickly and name witnesses who were still alive and could be asked. Most of those who first spread it paid with their lives, and they were positioned to know whether it was invented; people die for what they believe true, rarely for what they know to be false. And the movement began in an environment thoroughly hostile to it, claiming the least respectable thing available — that their leader had been executed as a criminal. None of this is mathematical proof. But it moves the question from feeling to evidence, which is somewhere you can seriously go. Practical suggestion: do not stop at comparing religions. Read one Gospel and see what the man said and did. In the end the question is not about religion but about him.
