两节经文里问了四次：要到几时呢。接着是控诉——你忘记我要到几时呢？你掩面不顾我要到几时呢？
到结尾，这篇诗确实转向了信靠。但请留意：全篇只有六节，而这个转折要到第五节才出现。三分之二是抗议。
这原样收在圣经里，没有被人修饰过。
也就是说：那些你不敢说出口的话，早就有人祷告过了，并且被保留下来，还被交给会众去唱。
