Mark 2: Four Friends and a Hole in the Roof

A paralysed man cannot get to Jesus, so four friends dig through a roof and lower him down. The text says Jesus saw their faith, plural.

Some of us are the man on the mat this year. Some of us are meant to be carrying a corner. Both are in the story, and neither is the lesser role.

Notice too what Jesus addresses first. The friends came for legs; he speaks to sins. That is not evasion — it is a claim that the deepest paralysis is not the visible one, and it is precisely why the religious experts in the room went quiet.
