Mary Magdalene: Set Free by the Lord, the First Witness to His Resurrection

In that single answer, 'Rabboni', there is recognition, there is reverent love, and there is the astonishment of finding again what was lost. That the risen Lord appeared first to this woman, once bound by seven demons, is grace itself. The First Witness to the Resurrection The Lord did not let her linger in that embrace but sent her to carry the news. And so Mary Magdalene became the first witness of the resurrection message, going to tell the disciples, still lost in their sorrow, that the Lord was alive. A woman once pushed to the margins of society was chosen by the Lord to proclaim the most important good news in human history. This is the beautiful, everything-overturning nature of the gospel: what the Lord treasures is not a person's status or standing, but a heart that loves Him and seeks Him. Her Story Is Also an Invitation to Us Mary Magdalene's life, from bondage to freedom, from tears to rejoicing, bears witness to the power and tender love of the risen Lord.
