You Are Fearfully and Wonderfully Made — Psalm 139:14

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14) Throughout this psalm, David has been meditating on how thoroughly God knows him: "You know when I sit and when I rise... before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely." When he considers how God knit him together piece by piece in his mother's womb, he responds not with pride and not with shame, but with worship: "I am fearfully and wonderfully made." We live in a world that constantly measures appearance and performance. We look in the mirror and often see the flaws first: not attractive enough, not capable enough, not successful enough. But God looks at the very same you and calls you "wonderfully made." You are not an accident, not a mistake, not a random collection of cells. You were carefully and personally crafted by a God of great wisdom and great love. While he formed you in secret, his eyes were already watching over you. Notice why David can speak this way: "I know that full well." This confidence about his own worth does not come from other people's praise, nor from his own achievements. It comes from knowing the Creator. When we look up to God, we come to understand who we are: loved, known, and treasured. Your value is not something you earn; it is something God gives. Today, perhaps you are discouraged by your own shortcomings. Remember this: the One who made you has never regretted making you. He regards you as the wonderful work of his own hands. You can stop measuring yourself with the world's ruler and instead receive your Father's view of you. The same God who fashioned the stars took time and care to fashion you. Nothing about you is beneath his attention, and nothing about you is beyond his love. He knew you before anyone else did, and he will treasure you long after every other voice has fallen silent. You are the work of his hands, and he does not make mistakes. Let that truth quiet the harsh voices and steady your sense of who you are. Lord, thank you for making me so wonderfully. When I think little of myself, help me to see myself through your eyes. Amen. Today, read Psalm 139 in the free BiblePro 主内圣经 app, and let God's Word remind you how precious you are in his sight.
