Scripture

Mark 6

The disciples return from their first mission, full of reports. Before anything else, Jesus tells them to come away to a quiet place and rest, because so many were coming and going that they had no chance to eat.

The rest is then interrupted by a crowd of five thousand, and he feeds them. Both halves are true: rest is commanded, and it is not always granted on schedule.

Note that the instruction came from him, not from their exhaustion. Rest here is not a reward for finishing; it is part of the work. If you have been treating it as something to earn, this is the chapter that disagrees.
